Trustees
New Hope Church is also a corporation that is incorporated in the State of Wisconsin. The Corporation’s “Board of Directors” is called the “Board of Trustees”. The Board of Trustees provides the necessary physical plant (i.e. building etc) needed in order to achieve the vision established by New Hope’s Session. In addition the Board of Trustees is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the corporation.
The mission of the Board of Trustees is to honor and glorify God by providing the necessary physical plant and financial services needed to serve the Body of Jesus Christ. This mission is realized through the following goals:
• Ensure that the physical plant of New Hope Church is maintained in good physical condition.
• Ensure that the need for additions or expansions of physical plant are identified and planned for.
• Ensure that the budget needs of the corporation are properly identified, coordinated and presented to the corporation.
• Ensure that the day to day cash management needs are satisfied and properly recorded for annual corporation meeting.
To ensure that the physical plant is maintained in good physical condition, the Board of Trustees undertakes a number of projects through-out the year. Some examples of past projects include:
• Networking the church computers
• Cleaning up the grounds every spring and fall.
* Implementing energy efficiency by using high efficiency replacement air conditioners and furnaces and upgrading all lights in the interior and exterior with energy-saving fluorescent bulbs.
* Repainting the narthex, hallway and sanctuary.
* Replacing service doors and windows as necessary.
To ensure that the need for additions or expansions of physical plant are identified and planned for, members of the Board of Trustees participate on special expansion team initiatives that evaluate various alternatives that are then presented to the Session and Corporation.
To ensure that the Corporation’s budget needs are properly identified and coordinated, the Board of Trustees works with the ministry teams within New Hope in order to develop a budget for the next year. The Board of Trustees then presents the budget to the Corporation for approval.
To ensure proper handling of the corporation’s finances the Treasurer of the Trustees is responsible for the day to day cash management needs of the corporation.
God has and continues to provide the funds required to perform all of these tasks. Special thanks to those who were willing to commit their time and effort to serve on the Board of Trustees and help achieve the Board’s goals.
The Board of Trustees provides an excellent opportunity for those who have the gift of administration and craftsmanship. The Board of Trustees is always looking for more help – please consider serving the Body by either serving on the Board or working with the Board on special projects. And, as always, let a member of the Board of Trustees know when you see something that may need attention.
