Matthew 10:1-25

In Matthew I am reminded that Jesus promised us that a disciple is not above his teacher nor servant above his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household. In my understanding that means that as we follow Jesus we can expect persecution. People will be offended or frightened when mention Jesus name and declare His power in our lives and the world around us.

1 John 3

Today’s reading covers a range of topics. What popped out most to me however was verses 4 - 6. In verse 4 we are told that everyone who breaks the law sins and sinning is lawlessness. In verse 5 we read that Jesus appeared so He can take away our sins. We also learn that in Him is no sin. Finally, we learn the most important lesson in verse 6. No one who lives in Christ keeps sinning and the corollary who ever continues to sin does not know Christ. That is the point. We must know Christ.

Lamentations 3-Ezekiel 3; Hebrews 8

Hebrews 8 is such a powerful message from the Lord! Especially for those of us that hold to covenant theology. Jesus is the Mediator of the new covenant the Lord has made with us. Hallelujah! We have now a superior High-Priest presently with us and what a joy He is!

Lamentations 1-2; Hebrews 7:11-28

Hebrews 7:19 tells me that drawing near to God is what Christianity is all about. Through my personal relationship with Christ I am a believer priest because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. What joy I have to be able to draw new to the Lord.
