FAQ

New to New Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church?
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday to see for yourself what we’re all about.

Should I bring my children to church?
Absolutely! We have Sunday school for ages two years old to adult starting at 8:30 a.m. The nursery is provided for children three years and younger during both the Worship Service and Sunday School.

What happens when I get to New Hope?
We have greeters who will welcome you into the fellowship area. Then we have another set of greeters who will give you a bulletin and welcome you again as you enter the church sanctuary.

What do I do before the service starts?
If you arrive before the service starts, you will notice that our fellowship area is filled with people greeting one another during this time. There are also some comfortable seats if you wish to sit and wait to enter the sanctuary. There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere.

What are the services like?
Services generally last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise, with a variety of traditional hymns and contemporary music.

How will I know when to stand?
The pastor or the worship team will ask the congregation to stand or sit. Generally we stand while singing.

What is the pastor’s message like?
Pastor Jim gives Bible-based messages lasting 30-40 minutes. Recordings of the message are also available.

What do I do if I have questions or want to know more about Christ?
There will be an elder standing near the front of the sanctuary on the right side by the organ at the end of every service. If you wish to put your trust in Jesus Christ or just pray with the elder, please make your way to the front and talk with him.

What if I have a prayer request or financial need?
Either meet with an elder at the front of church or fill out the white visitor registration card and drop it in the offering plate.

Do I need to donate money when I visit?
New Hope does believe tithing is a Biblical principle and we do encourage it and teach it. However, our guests should not feel under any obligation to give.

What happens after the service?
Coffee  is usually available before and after the service so please stay and let us introduce ourselves to you. Additionally, on the 2nd Sunday of the month, we have our “Pot Providence” which is a Pot Luck/Church Dinner, so please stay and eat with us in the fellowship hall, we would love to get to know you more.

What if I have more questions that I don’t find answers to here?
Give us a call at the church office, we would love to talk to you about any questions you may have.  Our number is (920) 468-8565

We hope to see you on Sunday!
